Fried Tofu for the Fried Chicken Fool in You

Save a life in the middle of the night when the streets have rolled up and retired to Zanzibar, and you are mean and ornery because the 53rd Street, Original Harold’s is 3 CTA busses-away and you are $500 dollars short.

  • Extra firm tofu
  • Flour
  • Tony’s
  • Whole Food’s Habanero/green chile seasoning
  • Ground red pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • A little olive oil or grape seed oil.

Slice tofu into 4 portions.  Use only 1 portion per person.  Cut tofu into cubes.

Season flour.  Place tofu into flour, and gently coat.

Use just enough oil to coat bottom of pan.

Fry until flour takes on a light color, or to your liking.

Splash hot sauce all over that!
